How do I start multiplayer mode in Murmur Mayhem?
Each player must be logged in to Game Center. They must also be Game Center friends. On each device go to Game Center settings and allow invites and nearby players. Euphonia searches locally for Game Center friends using the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. Once it identifies a friend locally, it generates a Game Center invitation via the Game Center servers. Be sure that your device is not set to “Do Not Disturb” so you can receive the invitation.
Simply choose the two player mode on the Map screen to start this process in motion. If, after 30 seconds, no invitation has shown up on your friend’s device, go back and try again as there was probably a hiccup with the Game Center servers. When the invitation arrives, press the notification and your friend will be pulled into your game.
When I start the game, I sometimes just hear a low hum. What is happening?
You are out of bounds. Move toward the boundary you created on the Map screen.
How can I make my GPS location and heading readings more reliable?
Avoid buildings and other large solid objects (especially steel). Maximize your view to the sky above. Play with a full battery. Don’t use a case if possible. Hold still before you start the game so GPS can get a good lock. Rotate your device as instructed in the compass app to help calibrate your heading (you can do this during the game, too). During gameplay, take advantage of opportunities to hold still and let your location reading stabilize. Move smoothly and deliberately when possible.
How does Euphonia account for variations in the GPS readings?
Euphonia’s games are carefully tuned to account for tracking ‘wobble’ using software algorithms and optimizing mob speeds, object sound fields and sonic queues such as the ‘hum’ an object generates when you get close to the wobble region.
I have an idea for a game. How can I tell you about it?
We would love to hear your idea. Please e-mail us at support@thinkingsource.com.
I’m having a problem with one of the games. Can you help?
We want to help you get the most enjoyment from Euphonia and your feedback is incredibly useful for tuning and testing current and future games. Please e-mail us at support@thinkingsource.com.
Can I play it using my iPad?
We have tested it thoroughly on the iPad, although it is not an iPad-native application. Your iPad must have cellular connectivity (which means it will also have a GPS chip).
What are you working on next?
We’re working hard on more capabilities, including sports simulations and RPG scenarios. We are also working on more content for the existing games based on user feedback and continued internal testing. We’re also thinking about competitive multiplayer options (imagine Murmur Mayhem where your Sonus is your opponent’s Murmur…).
When can I get this on Android?
Euphonia requires very exacting development and testing work, as well as a consistent, high quality and reliable platform on which to run. As such, user experience is critical to the success of the Euphonia platform. We have no plans to port Euphonia to Android at this time but continue to consider the feasibility as the Euphonia and Android technologies move forward.
How are high scores tracked?
Each game has five difficulty levels, with high scores tracked separately for each level. Murmur multiplayer mode is tracked separately from single player mode, as well.
